“When you eliminate the physical side of relationship, you found out what is really there.”
Day 1: August 2,2011
I have no class. I went to the library with my classmates. They are book readers and I was thinking that what if I would be like them. They’ve introduced me a book which entitled “Lord I want to be whole” by Stormie Omartian . It is a book which tells how powerful a prayer is and a scripture in Emotional Healing.
When I saw and read the first part of the book, I said to myself, “Omg!! I’m gonna read this book.” I really told myself that if one day that I have to read a book it should be suited to myself, somewhat, i could learn from it and help me to answer my questions about how you can cope up with things. So, God gave it to me and thanks to Him.
The title was an eye catcher and I really want to be whole. This is what I’m longing for. This is what I want. What really, are the steps for emotional healing??
A part of the introduction of the book tells the definition of emotional health. It said that it is having total peace of who you are, what you’re doing and where you’re going both individually and in relationship to those around you. It is in lined with God’s real purpose for you.
Then I came with my definition of emotional health: It is the overall healing in spiritual, physical and mental capability of living and to those around that person. There are Seven Steps On Emotional Health:
Step One: Release the Past
It talks about confessing to God what your failures and forgiveness. I really don’t have much time or I didn’t find time to confess what really my failures or sins to God. It’s true that unconfessed sins bring walls between ourselves and God. It will drag us down and might not can barely move. It was written that Confession goes along with repentance. It means that turn your back, walk away, and decide not to do it again. For me, It is really the foundation of how to forgive to those people who you think have wronged to you and also to forgive yourself and God.
We, sometimes ask God questions why this happen? how could God bring such trouble? and many questions that I complained to Him. But unforgiveness bring to loss of life. Forgiveness is a two-way process, as it written in the book, God forgives you and you forgive others. It is a choice we make, we decide on not what we feel like doing but on how we think is right..
We must also forgive God for giving those failures in us, there’s no thing that God will give with no purpose. He always give things on a purpose and we can learn from it.. It may be good for us or not, we must do it the right way.
The most important thing that to remember about forgiveness is :
Forgiveness doesn’t make the other person right; it makes you free.
and Forgiveness leads to life.
Things which you do not hope, happen more frequently than things which you do hope.
